President Cyril Ramaphosa has highlighted the importance of different countries working together to advance technologies across the globe.

He was giving the keynote address during a high-level Chinese delegation visit to the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research Centre in Pretoria.

The Chinese government has committed over R 190 billion into South Africa’s economy.

This comes ahead of the BRICS summit.

Ramaphosa officially opened the South Africa-China Scientists High Level dialogue, encouraging nations to share their expertise to advance human knowledge.

”The development of skills and expertise underpins all preparation for the participation in the 4th industrial revolution. This is where international cooperation becomes very crucial and critical. The frontiers of human knowledge are expanded through joint investments, the pulling of resources and the sharing of experience and expertise. This is the way the world is going, where no one nation can hope to excel on its own but that nations do need to partner with others in order to achieve great success, ” he adds.
