President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Thursday welcome the Springboks to the Union Buildings in Pretoria after their 2019 Rugby World Cup win in Japan.
Members of the public are welcome to witness this event from Government Avenue, Arcadia.

The Springboks’ visit to the Union Buildings signifies the start of the Rugby World Champions’ National Trophy Tour.

The team will parade the Webb Ellis Cup in Johannesburg, Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth before concluding the tour in Cape Town on Monday, November the 11th.

The team is also expected to bring traffic to a standstill in Johannesburg at lunchtime today, when they parade through the streets of the city with the 2019 Rugby World Cup trophy they have won.

Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar says, “We’ll have a huge contingent of officers from all the law enforcement agencies present escorting the Boks and assisting with traffic. The procession goes along the route through Braamfontein, then on to the Nelson Mandela Bridge through Braamfontein through the CBD into Soweto to the Orlando Stadium.”
