President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to visit the families of three victims of violent abuse in the Eastern Cape.
He will visit the family of slain UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana in Beacon Bay, East London, before visiting the mother of boxer Leighandre “Baby Lee” Jegels’s in hospital who was wounded when her daughter’s boyfriend allegedly shot at them.
Baby Lee was killed.
Ramaphosa will also visit the home of Angelique Clark-Abrahams who was raped before being killed in the city this week.
Their deaths have once more put women’s safety in the spotlight.
