Ramaphosa to answer oral questions in Parliament

Reading Time: < 1 minute

President Cyril Ramaphosa will appear before the National Assembly to reply to oral questions on Tuesday. Deputy President David Mabuza will appear at the same time in the National Council of Provinces.

Among the questions Ramaphosa will face include one from the Democratic Alliance on VBS Bank and the recurrence of violent community protests as asked by the United Democratic Movement. Questions to Mabuza include alleged corrupt board directors and management of the state-owned enterprises.

The DA wants to know when Ramaphosa first became aware of the alleged involvement of executives in corruption and looting at the VBS Mutual Bank. He will also face a question on whether he will visit communities affected by high level violence during protest actions to account to the people of these communities and present them with detailed responses.

The DA wants to know from Mabuza what leadership he has provided to improve accountability and enforce sanctions against alleged corrupt board directors and management of the state-owned enterprises.
