Ramaphosa arrives at St George’s Cathedral

African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived at the St George’s Cathedral in Cape Town as part of activities to mark the 28th anniversary of former president Nelson Mandela‘s release from prison.

On this day, February the 11th, 1990 Mandela was freed from Victor Verster Prison in Paarl. The ANC will commemorate this historic day across the country.

Ramaphosa is expected to deliver the keynote address at the same spot at which Mandela delivered his speech nearly three decades ago.

The ANC national officials will also lead the programme to be held in Cape Town’s Grand Parade on Sunday to launch of the centenary celebrations in honor of Mandela.
