The South African Weather Service says most provinces in the country will experience rainfall throughout the day.

On Tuesday, Gauteng experienced heavy downpours with some areas receiving as much as 100-millimetres of rain.

Authorities have advised motorists to express extreme caution on the roads.

Forecaster Wayne Venter says, “We expect up to 80% chance of rainfall over much of KZN, Mpumalanga, the northern parts of Gauteng and the south eastern and southern parts of Limpopo.”

“We already have rain reports in some areas of KZN and eastern parts of Mpumalanga, however, we do expect thunder showers to re-develop this afternoon over the central parts of the country and that should spread to the eastern parts later this afternoon,” adds Venter.
