The Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula has posted a statement on Twitter from the police discouraging the public from performing any citizen arrest on Ajay Gupta.
The Ministry of Police has noted the various cash rewards that have been offered for the capture of the suspect.
The statement says that these rewards are not helpful and may result in the endangerment of the suspect and lookalikes.
Earlier, it was reported that the reward offered for the capture of Ajay Gupta and Duduzane Zuma appeared to be approaching R2 million, as more people came forward on Twitter to add to the amount
