‘Prophet of Doom’ back in court for assault

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The trial of a self-proclaimed prophet who allegedly sprayed his congregation with the Doom insecticide is set to continue on Tuesday at the Naboomspruit Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo.

Lethebo Rabalago has been charged with assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

His trial started with testimonies by a representative of the manufacturer of Doom, Tigerbrands.

The court also heard testimony by a representative of the Limpopo Agriculture Department, Catherine Mabitsela, who laid charges against Rabalogo.

Rabalago made headlines last year when he sprayed members of his Mount Zion General Assembly church with Doom.

He claimed the insecticide would heal congregants.

A psychologist and a doctor are expected to also testify.

The trial started on Monday.
