Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officers have advised motorists to exercise caution on the roads leading in and out of Soweto.
This is because the 25th edition of the Soweto Marathon is under way.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is among at least 30 000 runners that are to taking part in the fitness challenge.
JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar explains which roads are affected.
“The roads affected will include Soweto Highway, Nasrec Road, Chris Hani Road, Klipsriefvalley Road, Koma Road, Vilakazi Street and Main Reef Road. Members from JMPD will direct traffic from 6am up until 2pm,” says Minaar.
