As Human Rights Month draws to an end, People Opposing Women Abuse (Powa) says South Africans have become accustomed to high levels of gender-based violence.
According to the organisation, an average of 360 incidents of physical and sexual abuse against women take place everyday.
Powa has launched a news publication called Daily Abused to highlight this human rights violation of dignity and freedom.
Powa’s executive director, Nhlanhla Mokwena and a social activist against abuse, Rosie Motene speak to SABC about the gender-based violence.
