Polokwane City Football Club‘s players are receiving counselling following the death of defender, Mogau Tshehla.

The 26-year-old was killed in a car crash on Sunday night at Kwagga in Mpumalanga.

Polokwane City’s Tincy Tema says they have requested that their next league game against Bloemfontein Celtic be postponed.

“We are still going to hear from the PSL with regard to whether the game will go on. Our game against Bloemfontein Celtic will go on or will be postponed. We would like the game to be postponed. In the morning, we had a session with the players, there was counselling that was performed – we just hope that our players will be strong.”

Club captain Jabulani Maluleke says Tshehla’s untimely death has sent shock-waves throughout the club and his team-mates are saddened.

“At the moment, it is a sad loss for us. He has been part of the family, the news never sat well with us since yesterday. I just want to thank God for the opportunity that we had with Mogau whether it is good or bad, may his soul rest in peace.”
