Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for two awaiting trial prisoners.
The pair escaped from the High Court in Johannesburg on Wednesday afternoon.
They were both appearing in court on murder charges.
Police spokesperson, Mavela Masondo says they are also investigating how the two managed to escape.
The escapees are 31 year-old Mongezi Mngunukelwa, who was facing two charges of murder, and Sibonelo Twala, who is facing two counts of murder as well as possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
