Police intensify search for nine-year old boy in Durban beach

Police have intensified their search for the body of a nine-year old boy who went missing on New Year’s Day at the Durban North Beach.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says it is believed the boy who was swimming alongside the Pier was dragged out by rip current.

She says all rescue teams are all out to search for the boy.

“The body of a boy who drowned on Tuesday and went missing is still not has been found in North Beach. The search by the Search and Rescue Team is still on going and police so far has received negative results.”
