South Africans Philip Buys and Matthys Beukes have won the fifth stage of the ABSA Cape Epic mountain bike stage race from Oak Valley to Stellenbosch.
They completed the 100 kilometres queen stage that included 2850 metres of climbing, in four hours 19 minutes and 29 seconds and are now fourth overall.

World champion Nino Schurter and his Swiss countryman Lars Forster were second in the same time and are back in the leaders’ yellow jerseys.
They have a five minutes and 13 seconds advantage over German Manuel Fumich and Henrique Avancini of Brazil who were fourth on the stage.
