Parow hit by power cut, emergency repairs underway

Electricity supply to large parts of Parow and surrounding areas was shut down on Friday night for emergency repairs.

City of Cape Town’s Xanthea Limberg, on short notice advised of the expected four hour- long blackout to fix power faults during the night that were detected in Eskom’s overhead supply lines.

Special attention was given to hospitals, as well as essential services in the area to ensure its smooth and uninterrupted running during the maintenance period.

Emergency repairs to Eskom’s overhead lines due to faults that have been detected in their infrastructure and will affect Parow south and Parow industrial area and the surroundings, the city is working to assist the Tygerberg Hospital by providing alternative means of power to ensure that they do not experience a disruption in supply.
