Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs(Cogta) Minister Zweli Mkhize will on Tuesday brief Parliament about the VBS Mutual Bank saga.
A number of municipalities invested money with the bank and the money went missing which led to the collapse of the bank.
The oversight committee on Cogta wants municipal officials who invested municipal funds in the bank to account for their decisions.
The National Assembly will also debate a motion on the VBS Mutual Bank Report.
The report linked about 50 people or companies to the losses.
Chairperson of the Committee Richard Mdakane says: “It is clear now that no one knows exactly who took what decision and when. We want the minister to assist us with this information and also how do we deal with the issue because the money that was deposited was from very poor municipalities. Some of them are going to suffer in terms of service delivery to the poorest of the poor.”
