Higher Education Minister Naledi Pandor has announced the appointment of a National Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) administrator.
Dr Randall Carolissen, who is currently Wits Council Chair and a SARS Group Executive member, will hold the administrator position for a year.
The appointment follows the recent resignation of NSFAS Board Chairperson Sizwe Nxasana.
“Dr Carolissen is appointed for the period of 12 months and will take over the governance, management and administration of the entity.
“Amongst other things that the minister considered was his leadership and management experience as well as high level technical skills and his understanding of the South African higher education,” says ministerial spokesperson Lunga Ngqengelele.
