Family, friends and the public are holding their breath ahead of the sentencing of convicted murderers, Christopher Panayiotou and two co-accused, in the High Court in Port Elizabeth on Friday.

The trio were convicted on the 2nd of November for their roles in the abduction and murder of Panayiotou’s teacher wife, Jayde, in April 2015.

She was abducted outside their townhouse complex, taken to an open veld near Uitenhage and shot execution style.

The family and supporters of Jayde Panayiotou were overjoyed when her killers were found guilty.

It was a tough and drawn-out court battle which lasted almost two and a half years with about 70 witnesses.

One mother was happy, while the other, the mother of a murderer, was sad and cried bitterly when Judge Dayalin Chetty gave his verdict.

The court ruled that Panayiotou ordered an employee at his night club, Luthando Siyoni, to find someone to kill his wife.
