Manny Pacquiao says talks of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather must wait until after his WBA welterweight title defence against Adrien Broner in January 2019.
There has been speculation about a rematch ever since Mayweather scored a unanimous decision over Pacquiao, who later said he was hampered by a right shoulder injury in a 2015 bout that was dubbed “The Fight of the Century”.
Pacquiao said, “I just want to prove that I’m still in boxing.”
He said he is still in boxing and his career is just continuing. “My journey in boxing is continuing – and I just want to entertain people and to give a good show on January 19. That’s why I’m inviting everyone to please watch and don’t miss the opportunity for this great and prestigious fight that we’re going to do in the ring with Adrien Broner.”
