One person has been critically wounded following a shooting incident near a shopping centre at Buckingham Terrace in Westville, west of Durban.
The details of the incident are sketchy at this stage.
Rescue Care Emergency Services spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says the road has been closed to traffic while investigations continue.
“At this stage the circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown. However, a male believed to be in his 20s has sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body. He’s in a critical condition and paramedics are still working on him and he will be rushed through to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he requires. Buckingham Terrace has been closed to traffic to allow SAPS to investigate.”
