The Nelson Mandela Foundation(NMF) says former US president Barack Obama is the perfect choice to renew the Nelson Mandela legacy and promote active citizenry.
One of the Foundation’s board of trustee members Nikiwe Bikitsha has confirmed that they’re thoroughly prepared for the Nelson Mandela lecture on Tuesday to be delivered by Obama.
She says the main aim of the lecture will be to spark debate on crucial issues facing South Africa and the world at large.
She says one of the crucial things about the annual lecturer is to spark dialogue and debate.
Bikitsha says: “We invited speakers from across the globe to share their own personal experiences from their own leadership which speak to the challenges which are found in what Nelson Mandela cared deeply about and those are poverty, inequality and injustice, leading us to find lasting solutions as uTata said, it is in our hands.
“We are hoping that Obama will invigorate us into living the values of Nelson Mandela,” adds Bikitsha.
