The African National Congress (ANC) and its alliance partners in the Free State say Sisi Ntombela will bring extensive experience to the provincial government as she has good leadership qualities.

Ntombela has been nominated as the Free State premier-elect. She previously served as Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC.

Free State ANC spokesperson Thabo Meeko says they are happy that the party has endorsed her nomination.

“Comrade Sisi Ntombela brings a wealth of experience in governance as well as political party knowledge. She has in municipalities, former deputy speaker former MEC, Cogta and human settlement from MEC social development as well as a caretaker premier herself. She stepped in the congress tradition of the ANC of the longest-serving leader of the ANC Women’s League, currently the deputy president of the women’s league, we believe that in her appointment there is unity .”
