Rodrigues back in court for Timol’s murder case

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The case of former apartheid special branch police officer, Joao Rodrigues, will continue in the High Court in Johannesburg on Monday.

Rodrigues is accused of involvement in the murder of anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Timol, 47 years ago. The case was postponed last week to give the defence time to submit documentation.

Last year, the High Court in Pretoria found that Timol died at the hands of the apartheid security police while in detention after being pushed from a window at the then John Vorster Square police station in 1971.
