The African National Congress (ANC) in the Free State says there is nothing inappropriate about the resignation of William Bulwane. Bulwane was recently sworn in as a Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL).

He resigned on Monday, just over two weeks since his appointment as MPL.

The party’s provincial spokesperson Thabo Meeko says Bulwane has been redeployed by the party to allow him time to focus on the work of the ANC and towards next year’s election.

Bulwane has already been replaced by Free State National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) chairperson Montsheng Tsiu.

He also currently serves at the Free State ANC interim leadership co-ordinator following the dissolution of party’s provincial executive committee.
