The African National Congress (ANC) in the Northern Cape is looking forward to an overwhelming majority win in the province.
With 70% of the counting done, the ANC is leading with 55%, followed by the DA with 31% and then the EFF with 7%.
The party’s spokesperson, Naledi Gaosekwe says their main stronghold areas of support have still not been counted yet.
“The ANC in the Northern Cape, we can attribute that to the hard work of the volunteers, the over 3 000 volunteers that we had on the ground since we started this campaign. They worked very hard for this. We were looking forward to the end results, our main strongholds are not counted yet, like your Sol Plaatje area, we’re not done yet, the Joe Morolong area as well is not yet complete. So we’re looking forward to an overwhelming majority at the end.”
