‘We are in no mood for any favours for Ajax’

Cape Town City midfielder Lyle Lakay has made it clear that they want nothing but three points on their Absa Premiership encounter against neigbours Ajax Cape Town.

The Citizens will host Urban Warriors at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday at 15:30 p.m.

“We are eager to do the double over them again; we are in no mood for any favours. We aren’t too focused on our opposition, we just want 3 points and to give our fans bragging rights,” says Lakay on club Twitter page.

Benni McCarthy charges will look to bounce back to winning ways following their 1-0 defeat to Free State Stars, meanwhile Ajax will look to continue collecting maximum points following their 3-1 truimph over Platinum Stars.

The Citizens have dominated the Cape Town derby since its inception back in 2016, having won all three matches against Ajax.

Muhsin Etugral men are battling to get out of the relegation zone as they sitting 14th position with 16 points in 17 matches, while the Citizens will be eyeing to close the four points gap on Mamelodi Sundowns as they are on the 3rd spot with 27 points in 17 matches.

Ajax will rely on their newly signed strikers Tendai Ndoro and Samuel Julies to win this match, while City bank on Roland Putsche who has been clinical in front of goals lately together with Lakay and Teko Modise.
