No clarity if Khune will play against Senegal

It is still not clear if Kaizer Chiefs keeper Itumeleng Khune will be available for Bafana Bafana’s crucial back to back World Cup qualifiers against Senegal on Friday and next week Tuesday.

Bafana Bafana who are still bottom of Group D with just four points will need the experience of the country’s number one keeper for the two upcoming matches in Polokwane and Dakar.

Khune had to be stretchered off in injury time in the Telkom Knock-out quarter-final match after colliding with Chippa United forward Kurt Leintjies.

The Bafana Bafana number one keeper suffered a bone fracture in his face. Bafana Bafana’s team doctor Thulani Ngwenya has confirmed that Khune will see a specialist later on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.

All Kaizer Chiefs players were expected to only report for camp in Johannesburg Monday morning as they were still travelling from Port Elizabeth.

Khune missed the two back to back losses to minnows Cape Verde in September.
