The State Capture Commission in Parktown, Johannesburg, will resume on Wednesday with evidence from Minister for Women Maite Nkoane Mashabane.
The commission heard evidence from former Acting Head of the Hawks, Yoliswa Matakata.
She told the commission that there were indeed two telephone calls by then Hawks Head, Berning Ntlemeza to then Deputy Minister of Finance, Mcebisi Jonas regarding the Guptas.
Matakata confirmed that the calls from Ntlemeza followed reports Jonas had been offered a minister’s position by the Guptas.
The calls were to organise a consultation where a statement from Jonas would be taken about what transpired at the meeting with the Guptas but Matakata says the meeting never took place.
