UDM leader, General Bantu Holomisa says the newly appointed minsters and deputies in the cabinet show that the ANC lacks machinery.

He calls the reshuffle a compromise, aimed at serving those within the ANC and not the needs of South Africans.

Holomisa says some of the appointed ministers are questionable.

“There is no doubt that this is a compromised cabinet reshuffle, aimed at uniting the ANC first and forget about the country – we have people there who are questionable – who are likely to face the inquiry of state capture – you know people like Bathabile… they have messed up, but they have been rewarded. All in all there is nothing to write home about – its clear that they have no machinery at all.”

President Cyril Ramaphosa named David Mabuza as Deputy president, Nhlanhla Nene as Finance Minister and Pravin Gordhan as Public Enterprises Minister, in a far-reaching cabinet reshuffle.  He also named Bheki Cele to head the Police Ministry, Naledi Pandor to Higher Education, Gwede Mantashe to Mineral Resources and Lindiwe Sisulu to International Relations.
