Two Eastern Cape women accused of conspiring to have their husbands killed, will know next Monday whether they will be granted bail or not.

Nomqondiso Tembu and Busiswa Nabi appeared on Monday in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder and conspiracy to murder.

It is alleged that both suspects hired the same man to murder their husbands.

Hawks spokesperson Captain Anelisa Feni says one of the alleged planned murders was executed while the other one was foiled with the arrest of the alleged hitman.

Tembu is alleged to have hired a hit man who eventually murdered her husband after paying him more than R1000.

It is alleged that Nabi hired the same hitman to murder her 41-year-old husband. However, the Hawks’ serious organised crime unit got hold of the plot and arrested the suspect before the alleged planned murder could take place.

Tembu is facing a charge of murder and conspiracy to murder. Nabi is facing a charge of conspiracy to murder.
