A brand new multi-million rand library has been opened in Dunoon in Cape Town. The project took five years to complete and required the collaboration of all three spheres of government.

The City of Cape Town says the building is energy and water efficient.

The library will enable the community, particularly learners, to do research on projects and school assignments.

Cape Town Mayor Dan Plato says,“We want to change behaviour, we want to change mindsets – that’s why the investment is so important because that is what the library must do for this community. I want to say to the community of Dunoon, please come and make this facility your facility for the benefit of your children.”
