The Port used for Mossel Bay’s cruise season has officially opened with the arrival of the MS Albatros, bringing over 900 passengers to the Garden Route. It is the first of seven cruise liner calls this season.
The season starts in November and ends in May 2020.
Chief Operations Officer of Mossel Bay Tourism, Aneli Gerber, says the cruise liners bring a major boost to tourism and the economy of the town.
“Having these passengers in our town is a huge boost for the local economy. They spend money in our restaurants, they go on activities, they buy curios, so for us it’s a valuable asset and we really value these passengers and cruise liners in our ports and calling at our towns.”
