A fun walk to raise funds to help children suffering from cancer has been held at Mbombela in Mpumalanga.

Over 200 people participated in the 5 kilometre walk.

Event organiser, Tebogo Moya says they want to raise at least R20 000 for the children.

Moya has urged all the people of the province to take part in such initiatives.

“We have this year about 60 kids that are receiving treatment in Mpumalanga who are going to Pretoria. We know that money finishes quickly so we put together toiletries, we put together snacks, we put together warm clothes for these children. Last year we helped kids in Mkhuhlu and Lekazi. We have received information of kids in the townships that is our main target – we are helping kids from our townships because we know that there’s more needs there, there’s no money, there’s no food.”
