The challenge for a double summit of Mount Kilimanjaro has been set. With grueling training under the belt a few Kili conquerors, including SABC News’ Gillian Pillay and Thabo Madilola will push the boundaries during the Trek-4-Mandela Centenary climb later this week.

Four climbers started off but only one managed to crack a double summit.

Mountaineer Sibusiso Vilane raised the bar with his Uhuru feat. Now these climbers are back to give it another shot.

Esther Masinga, who recently tackled Everest base camp with Vilane, is confident of a double summit.

The team will take over 200 000 steps over the five-day trek.

Again a call on corporate companies, civil society and government to donate sanitary pads towards each step taken was made.
