Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former SABC COO, Hlaudi Motsoeneng will be testifying at the State Capture Commission in Parktown, Johannesburg on Tuesday. Last week, the commission heard how Motsoeneng was relentless in his attempts to interfere with the public broadcaster’s editorial mandate. He was removed from the position after it was found he lied about his qualifications.  Also expected to testify is the Post Office’s Anton Van Vuuren about digital migration.

Motsoeneng is expected to give clarity on a number of allegations against him. Last week, the commission heard the testimony of SABC employees who are part of the SABC 8. One such employee is Krivani Pillay; SAFM’s Executive Producer who testified about how a popular Sunday programme called “The Editors” was cancelled 48 hours after Motsoeneng was a topic of discussion.

The commission also heard how, a week after her appointment, Former SABC CEO Lulama Mokhobo was taken to the Gupta home in Saxonworld by Motsoeneng, to be congratulated on the appointment.
