Motjeka Madisha to be buried on Saturday

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The family of the deceased Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Motjeka Madisha, says the club has assisted them in getting the services of a private laboratory to get the DNA results so that they can proceed with burial.

Madisha was killed in a car crash on 12 December 2020, when his vehicle crashed into a steel pole in wet conditions and burst into flames near Kempton Park, in Ekurhuleni.

A brief look at Madisha’s football career in the video below:

His burial was delayed as the family was waiting DNA results from a government laboratory.

Madisha will finally be laid to rest at Ga-Madisha Village in Zebediela, outside Polokwane, in Limpopo on Saturday.

Family spokesperson Fanie Tsela is grateful for the club’s assistance.

“All thanks to Mamelodi Sundowns. They assist the family in terms of getting an alternative … the family took the route of getting the private lab as well. We now have the results and we can now as family get some closure and proceed giving Motjeka the dignified send off that he deserve. So if it was for the government, at this stage [we] would still be waiting for the results of the DNA,” explains Tsela.

SAFA’s Danny Jordaan sends condolences to the Madisha family:
