Mosimane offers brotherly advice to Mokwena

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he will call former Orlando Pirates interim coach Rhulani Mokwena to offer brotherly advice.

Pirates hired a new coach in German Josef Zinnbauer to replace Mokwena two days ago, who will revert back to being an assistant coach. Mosimane believes that the young mentor will become a great coach one day.

The 32-year old Mokwena took over when Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic jumped ship to join Egyptian giants Zamalek earlier this season.

He struggled during his short stint at the helm with the Soweto giants. Mosimane says Mokwena is capable of doing the job despite his tender age.

Mosimane has been vocal about local coaches being given an opportunity to coach in the PSL.

Both Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are coached by foreign coaches, and Mosimane says he will continue to advocate for local coaches. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
