South African fast bowler, Morne Morkel has made an announcement that he will retire from all forms of international cricket after the four-match Test series against Australia.
Morkel made the announcement in Durban where the first test match starts on Thursday. Morkel made his debut for the Proteas in a test match against India back in 2006.
The 33-year-old has also cited family reasons as the reason for his decision.
He has played 83 test matches to date, taking 283 wickets with seven five wicket hauls and formed a formidable fast bowling trio with Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander.
He also played 117 One Day Internationals and 44 T20 Internationals.
