There’s been a huge turnout at the annual Moritlhwana Schools Arts Festival in the Free State. It started as a small event eight years ago but now attracts arts enthusiasts from across the country.
The event creates a platform for learners to showcase their talent which include dance, storytelling and poetry.
To many arts lovers the event has become a cultural pilgrimage.
“They started from nowhere, but the event is now a permanent feature on the cultural calendar,” says Festival Director, Tumi Mkhondo.
Young people are encouraged to channel their energy into things that will better their lives.
