Morgan Gould relishes the Stellenbosch FC challenge

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Stellenbosch FC will begin their first campaign in the Absa Premiership in Port Elizabeth this weekend, when they play against Chippa United, and a familiar face expected to be in the starting line-up is former SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould.

Gould was announced by the club last week.

After 17 seasons in Gauteng, where he first featured with Jomo Cosmos, the former Bafana Bafana man will for the first time play for a club outside his home province.

Gould is looking forward to this new challenge in Stellenbosch.

With a few of the new technical team members having formerly worked in rugby, Gould says Stellenbosch will have a physical edge.

While Gould may be 36, he says he is not at the club to just be a father figure, he joined Stellenbosch to play football.

Gould says he is often asked about his future and how long he still has to play, but he remains philosophical.
