More than 530 wanted suspects arrested in Gauteng

More than 530 suspects who featured on the police’s wanted list have been successfully traced and arrested during raids on Thursday and Friday.

Law Enforcement agencies will again be out in full force this weekend conducting operations across the province.

Gauteng police spokesperson Mathapelo Peters says, “The suspects were arrested for crimes that include murder and attempted murder, rape, hijacking, possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of drugs, and assault with the intention to cause bodily harm.”

Peters says some were arrested for contempt of court, contravention of court order, theft, house robbery and business burglary, robbery with a firearm, domestic violence, contravention of a protection order, malicious damage to property, kidnapping and pointing of firearm.
