Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe and former Board chairperson Zola Tsotsi will appear before the parliamentary inquiry into Eskom on Tuesday morning.

The Public Enterprises Portfolio committee is probing allegations of grand corruption, governance failures and mismanagement of state funds at the power utility.

Among the allegations that the pair will be expected to answer are around payments made to Gupta-linked firm, Trillian. This is even though there were no signed contracts in place.

Molefe’s R30 million pension payout is also expected to be on the agenda.

Earlier this month another former Eskom CEO, Tshediso Matona, described deep infighting within the Board‚ led by then chairperson Tsotsi, mainly over procurement issues.
