Mokonyane pays tribute to Madikizela-Mandela

Communications Minister Nomvula Mokonyane says she will always remember late struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela as an advocate in the fight against poverty and unemployment.

Madikizela-Mandela died in a Johannesburg hospital on Monday at the age of 81 following a long illness.

Tributes from politicians, musicians and the general public and across the world have been pouring in since the news of her passing.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has since announced that an official funeral will be held for Madikizela-Mandela on April 14.

Mokonyane says Madikizela-Mandela was a source of inspiration to many people in poor communities and tried her level best to ensure that people do not go to bed hungry.
