The Moerane Commission investigating politically-related killings in KwaZulu-Natal will resume its sitting on Tuesday.

Last week, the commission heard evidence from relatives of two slain Umzimkhulu Municipal councillors in the southern part of the province.

The family of former ANC Youth League secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa still believes he was killed for speaking out against corruption in the municipality.

The fiancée of the late councillor Mduduzi Tshibase, Phumza Diko, told the commission that Tshibase had told her that he had enemies in the political arena.

Tshibase was ambushed at his home a month after the killing of municipal speaker Khaya Thobela last year.

A relative of a ANC ward candidate who was killed a few weeks before the Local Government Elections in 2016 in Newcastle in northern KwaZulu-Natal will take the stand.
