Mobara out but City confident ahead of Pirates and AmaZulu away games

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Cape Town City have been working hard this week ahead of this weekend’s Absa Premiership clash away against Orlando Pirates, as they look to move up the table from their current 11th position.

With a heat wave hitting the Mother City, City’s Assistant coach Vasili Manousakis says training has been tough, but good, as they head to Gauteng, where it is also expected to be hot.

City will not be returning to Cape Town after the Pirates game, but instead head straight to Durban where they play AmaZulu FC mid-week.

Manousakis also confirms that Abbubaker Mobara will be out for at least six weeks, joining Tashreeq Morris, who just had surgery, on the injury list.

On a positive note Roland Putsche and Kouassi Kouadja are now back in full training, and with Mobara’s injury, Manousakis says it is a timely return.

They follow Thabo Nodada and Taariq Fielies, who have just returned to the team. Fielies is delighted to be back.

Fielies says he is looking forward to these next two games, and says it is a good chance for the players to bond over the next week, and pick up points. – Report by Rob Delport
