Mnangagwa’s family expresses support as he assumes new role

Reading Time: < 1 minute

New Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s family have thrown their love and support behind their father as he assumes a new role in the country.

Mnangagwa was sworn in as the 3rd President of Zimbabwe on Friday.

This follows the resignation of former President Robert Mugabe, after holding that position for 37 years.

His twin sons Colin and Sean say they were fearful of the whole process and were hoping for the best at the same time.

Colin says: “I’m relieved. I’m very relieved. It was a really trying time for us. I think I speak for my brother and sister when we say it was scary, but we are grateful and we believe that God had a hand in this and if it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be. So it’s exciting times for us and Zimbabweans…”

Sean Mnangagwa says his father understands the huge task at hand to change this country for the better.

Mnangagwa’s daughter Tapiwa urges her father to listen to the people and to serve with dignity.
