Mental strength is key says Chippa United coach

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Chippa United are hard at training preparing for next Tuesday’s Nedbank Cup last-16 match against Bidvest Wits away at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg.

Chilli Boyz coach Norman Mapeza is happy with the hard work showed by his players at training ahead of the clash against the “Clever Boys.”

Zimbabwe-born Mapeza has added that his players’ mental strength is going to play a major role during the match against Wits as the Chilli Boyz seek to go further in the Nedbank Cup like they did when they reached the semi-finals of the tournament last season.

The former FC Platinum coach has insisted that he is not going to make wholesale changes to his team even though his main objective is to see the Chilli Boyz in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Mapeza is hoping for a fruitful partnership between strikers Augustine Kwem and Ruzaigh Gamildien.

Both players were key in the Chilli Boyz’s 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy in the last-32 with Kwem netting a brace while Gamildien scored the other goal. – Report by Monwabisi Jimlongo
