McCarthy says he is delighted for Barker and his team on getting promoted to the Absa Premiership and is excited to have two Western Cape teams in the South African top tier again.
McCarthy says a lot of hard work went into Stellenbosch’s success and credit should be given for the manner in which they won the league.
Stellenbosch will celebrate their NFD victory on Friday in their hometown when they do an open top bus parade of the trophy, starting at 1pm in Dorp Street before heading to Khanyamandi, Cloetesville and Idas Valley. The parade will end at the Stellenbosch City hall.
