The Mbombela municipality has barred Rand Water employees from entering its water treatment plant in Kanyamazane, east of the Mpumalanga capital.
This after the employees downed tools last week demanding answers about their job security.
This action by employees disrupted water supply in KaNyamazane and surrounding areas.
The Municipality has obtained a court interdict preventing the workers from entering the plant.
Mbombela Municipal spokesperson Joseph Ngala says they resorted to go to the court due to the vandalism on the property.
He says: “We are still maintaining that Rand Water must come forward so that we can chat about the way forward. We are still waiting for them for a meeting. Until now they have not responded.”
