Police Minister Fikile Mbalula says syndicates of organised crime will face the full might of the law.
Mbalula has been speaking at Berlin, near East London, where the Hawks arrested a farmer after he was allegedly found in possession of mandrax.
They have an estimated street value of R500 000 while more than R300 000 in cash was confiscated.
Five suspected stolen vehicles were also found on the farm.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
